Oskar’s Amazing Adventure

Snowbound in Grandma’s little house on top of the mountain, fun-loving Oskar goes out in the snow to find a friendly animal to play with. But the puppy is chased by a hungry fox and has a lucky escape when he falls down a deep hole and lands on top of a young hibernating marmot. Marmot forgives Oskar, and using her amazing whistling and digging skills, alerts Grandma to where they are and digs a tunnel to escape the fox. Oskar has so much fun with his new-found friend that he wants to play more but must wait until spring for Marmot to finish her long winter’s sleep.

This award-winning original play for young children uses a rich mix of storytelling, physical theatre, clowning, puppetry and music and song to tell the tale of a puppy’s search for friendship in the wilderness of the Alps. After the show, the children can meet the performer and play with the animal characters.

Oskar’s Amazing Adventure is aimed at children between 2 and 8, but there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy and we aim to offer a positive, shared experience for adults and children alike.

Winner Primary Times Children’s Choice best show award ★★★★★

“The energy and enthusiasm of the performer was staggering! She played many different parts with great results. The set was simple but effective with changing seasons and characters. The songs were catchy and fun. My two children (aged 3 and 5) really enjoyed it.” ★★★★★ - Julie Sharp, Primary Times

“Outstanding. This was my own preschooler's first ever live show and I am so massively grateful to Theatre Fideri Fidera for making it such a positive and memorable experience.” ★★★★★ - Get Your Coats On

”Combining brilliant storytelling, beautiful handmade stuffed animals and plenty of songs and actions for us all to join in with, this is a charming and thoughtful piece of theatre for younger children. Furry friends, foxes and fun for all the family, this delightful show is a real treat for everyone…” ★★★★ - Edinburgh Festival for Kids

“Thank you for bringing the production, and the book, to Wigtown and Dumfries. Dumfries was a particularly high point for us as many of the families who attended have never been to the theatre before. They come from a very deprived area of the town and it was a big step for them but they had an amazing time and are raring to come back to our children's festival next spring. Thank you for ensuring they had such a brilliant and positive experience.” - Anne Barclay, Operations Director, Wigtown Festival.
